Spencer was diagnosed with bowel cancer in November 2019 and lost his battle in May  2020. Aged 52 . The hospice was and I hope with your help, will continue to be a charity he supports..

Wirral hospice St John’s works tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing and support of  patients and their families at their most vulnerable time. Even during these covid times and with all the restrictions measures in place  the team enable goodbyes to be said in a safe, comfortable and uplifting environment while providing the required medical resources.  This is only possible because of charitable donations .

Spencer and I spent 20 years together, during that time we spent time in the hospice with my Dad - Frank it’s then we appreciated what the angels here do.

Spencer and Dad where close friends from the first meeting 30 years ago cut from the same cloth, with the ability to talk about anything to anyone !  He was a great comfort to Dad during his journey with illness they spent hours in  each other’s company . Spencer said their conversations gave him some strength and comfort during his own battle.

Frank was very proud to call Spencer his son in law and friend.  Dad - Frank, had worked at Cammell Lairds in Birkenhead from 1956 till 1963 and is where he had been in contact with asbestos - which caused the mesothelioma which lead us to spending time at Wirral hospice St John’s.

Spencer, mum and I have supported the hospice as much as possible from then.  We may not be able to talk or go riding anymore but this is something Spencer and I can still do together - help others  help those who need the Earthly angels at Wirral hospice St John’s.

A memorial site has also been set up for Spencer where you can share your memories and pictures. It also  Gives you the choice of supporting  Bowel cancer Uk, Macmillan , St John’s Hospice and Wirral Holistic Care Services  on the link below :
